Research in the archives at the library was, in my opinion, not only fascinating, but also fun! I enjoyed the texture of the old, worn pages, the turn of each page sending you further into a time capsule, and seeing familiar names like Stein and Moore was exciting. I took a look at The Dial, which features Marianne Moore’s “Silence”. It felt different, reading her poem on the pages of something published in her time than reading it on my iPad. It was much more magical. I know it sounds silly, but the sensory experience of holding something so old and fragile heightened the experience for me. It was truly a special experience.
