The Last Edition of The Little Review

Before looking at the cover, we started flipping through the pages and found that the entire magazine was made up of interviews with influential writers of the time. This picture is of interview answers from Sherwood Anderson. The questions seemed quite simple, but by reading though it you could really see the modernist views that the poets had. Anderson had pretty simple responses to the questions, but most answers were very thought provoking. One writer answered that they are happy when people die that they don’t like, and they are unhappy when people keep living that they hate. Some writers refused to answer, some just sent a photo back of themselves. We started wondering why this edition was completely made up of interviews, so we went back to the cover and saw that it was the last Little Review to be published, and it was their way of saying goodbye. I think there is so much information here that could be used along with other poems or magazines to provide extra resources for a research project.
